PLEASE JOIN THE HUNGER ARTISTS THEATRE COMPANY FOR GREAT WESTERN WANDERLUST April 20th though May 13th, 2012 FULLERTON, CA – The Hunger Artists Theatre Company is proud to present its 4th show for the 2012 season, Great Western Wanderlust written by Eric Eberwein. This show is directed by Anthony Galleran and runs from April 20th to May 13th. Winner of the Las Vegas Little Theatre New Works competition, Great Western Wanderlust tells the story of Greg and Kristi, two thirtysomethings who try to escape from the confines of their marriage and midwestern upbringing by taking a cross-country train into the American West. What begins as a romantic getaway quickly turns sour, and Greg and Kristi are forced to re-examine their lives as they feel the pull of freedom and adventure from the great west. Great Western Wanderlust stars David Pittman, last seen on the Hunger Artists Mainstage as Father Prue Dimms in The Cantor's Tale, and Karen O'Hanlon, making her Hunger Artists debut. Also making their Hunger Artists debut are Orange County veterans Michael J. Keeney, Rob'n T. Lewis, Tiffanee C. Hall, and Patrick Peterson. Eric Eberwein's plays have been staged and produced at Santa Cruz Actors Theatre, Las Vegas Little Theatre, WNEP Theater (Chicago), the Coastal Empire Festival of New Plays, the Hunger Artists Theatre, STAGES theatre and Chapman University. Selected scripts are in print via Smith & Kraus and Original Works Publishing. "Eric Eberwein is one of the most talented writers in Orange County.” said Jill Johnson. “Having worked with Eric on many projects in the past, I am really excited to have his show as part of our main stage season.” Anthony Galleran made his directing debut with Hunger Artists in 2009 with a production of "The Shape of Things", and has directed very successful productions of "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead" and "High Fidelity" there since. He has also directed for STAGES Theatre and Theatre Out, and hopes to continue expanding his resume. "Tackling a new work is one of those high risk/high reward situations. You have an opportunity to show an audience something they've never seen before, and hopefully that audience will walk away feeling energized about the state of contemporary theatre. I feel so lucky and privileged to have been given the opportunity to play with Eric's incredibly intelligent and well-thought-out script, and I couldn't be happier with the finished product" said Galleran. Performances of Great Western Wanderlust will take place on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 7 pm. General admission tickets are $18 and students and seniors are $15. A special $10 Thursday show will be on May 3rd. Patrons may purchase tickets online by visiting our website (www.hungerartists.com). To reserve tickets by phone, please call 714.680.6803.
