The 2010 Season begins with a play from local playwright Johnna Adams, examining the lives of two young girls, one injured, one killed, when they get involved in a dangerous humanitarian mission to South America. Jill Johnson has previously directed productions of "The Insanity of Mary Girard" as well as producing two installments of the "Dead Letter Office" festival.

Lysistrata

Adapted and Directed by Glendele Way-Agle
The women of Greece band together in an ingenious scheme to force their husbands to end their long war: No sex until peace is made. Glendele Way-Agle has previously directed successful productions of "The Full Monty" and "The Vagina Monologues."

Oedipus Rex

Directed by Garrett T. McDonald
The king of Thebes is charged with finding the murderer of the king before him, although as he investigates the past, he is met with dark secrets and the disturbing revelation that no man can control his fate. Garrett T. McDonald has previously directed for the "Beyond Convention" festivals as well as "The Lion in Winter."

Shepard's Pulitzer Prize-winning examination of the American Dream takes center stage in the lives of a family wrecked with disappointment and the secret tragedy that haunts them. Katie Chidester has previously directed two installments of the "Flying Spaghetti Monster" saga and for the "Beyond Convention" festivals.

This renowned musical, based on Federico Fellini's autobiographical film , tells the story of a genius film director who finds a midlife crisis hindering his creative life and straining his relationships with the many women in his world. The Ballad of Don Q or The High Adventures of "Sixgun" Q
June 11 - 27

Hunger Artists presents the World Premiere of Jason Lindner's reinvention of the classic Don Quixote tale. Donald Quitten, an elderly Long Island Republican, believes himself to be a hero of the Wild West, "Sixgun" Q. This is Jill Johnson's second production of the season.

 

       
 
       
      Bat Boy: The Musical
July 9 - August 15

Book by Keythe Farley and Brian Flemming

Directed by Glendele Way-Agle
Based on the infamous Weekly World News tabloid story, this modern musical tells the funny and tragic story of Bat Boy, as he struggles to rise from a feral creature of the night to an active member of the society that cast him out. This is Glendele Way-Agle's second production of the season.
 
       
 
       
   

  Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead
August 27 - September 19

Tom Stoppard's modern classic about two of Shakespeare's minor characters as they wrestle with their philosophies of fate and destiny, all the while struggling to keep up with the fast-paced events of Hamlet, of which they have no control. Anthony Galleran has previously directed "The Shape of Things" and for the "Beyond Convention" festivals.
 
       
 
       
    A Midsummer Night's Scream
October 1 - 31

Shakespeare's romantic comedy gets bloody this Halloween. Four love struck teenagers wander into the New Orleans bayou and find themselves caught in the crossfire of a feuding Voodoo priest and priestess and their zombie subjects. Amber Scott has previously directed for the "Beyond Convention" and "Dead Letter Office" festivals.
 
       
 
       
      Beyond Convention IV
November 12 - 21
Produced by Emily Brauer Rogers
The play festival that breaks the boundaries of traditional theatre is back for its fourth installment. Emily Brauer Rogers has previously produced the previous installments of "Beyond Convention" as well as directed for "Hardcore: Women's Reflections on Iraq."

 

       
 
       
      The Spirit of Man: A Play in Three Parts
